Segol Segula

Parshas Yisro סגול
והייתם לי סגלה מכל־העמים
…you shall be to Me the most beloved treasure /segulah of all people (Shemos 19:5)

Rabbi Dovid Lelover explained this passuk homiletically. When Hashem describes Klal Yisroel as a treasure , סגולה, this alludes to the vowel seggol (סגול). A seggol with is 2 dots directly below the center between them, looks the same, no matter how you turn it. So too, every Jew, no matter what situation you are in, even if you completely turned from Hashem, you remain a Jew.

Rabbi Elimelech Biderman / Torah Wellsprings, Parshas Yisro

The sefirah of חסד chesed /lovingkindness, is represented by the segol. This alludes to the role of the Jewish people as a pivotal balancing energy between the physical and spiritual worlds, creating a holistic and integrated world-view amidst the apparent duality of existence. It is the third Beis Hamikdash, which will be called "a House of Prayer for all people," binding everyone together.”
