Torat HaTzeva Shevat Workshop, Session 1: Preparing for TuBShvat with Tikkun Taam, The Rectification of Taste
This workshop is dedicated l’ilui nishmat Sergeant Major Ron Gvili.
• Shevat Tzefuf, Tzadi, Stomach: Explored the inner wisdom of the Jewish calendar, focusing on the tziruf of Shevat , Hey-Yud--Vav-Hey, as a month of preparation, low saturation, and hidden growth as we journey toward Tu B’Shvat, the New Year of the Trees.
• Meditation & Breathpainting: Rachel Leah guided layered meditations using breath, visualization, and inner listening, including practices connected to sap rising, inner warmth, and devekut—gentle attachment to the Divine presence.
• Painting your inner Tree and Dli: Torat HaTzeva Practice: Through guided painting exercises, participants expressed inner experience rather than external form, exploring color relativity, water dilution, and emotional movement through paint.
• Water as Torah & Receiving: A water-based painting and meditation practice explored receiving without control, drawing on teachings of the B’nei Yissaschar, the inner mazal of Shevat, and the symbol of the דלי d’li (bucket) as a vessel for Divine flow.
• Taste, Presence & Tikkun Ta’am: The group engaged in a contemplative practice of tikkun taam with conscious drinking water and tasting maple syrup, learning to slow down, sense readiness, and receive sweetness with awareness as preparation for Tu B’Shvat.
• Reflection on how creative Torah practice supports healing, embodiment, and gentle inner transformation.
